How to Make Garlic Shrimp

Serve up a plate with aroma-filling garlic shrimp on the side of scoops of white rice or baked potatoes. Here is a eye-opener recipe of making garlic shrimp.

Ingredients

  • 10 shell-on U-15 shrimp, deveined
  • 1 head garlic (10 cloves), chopped
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup clarified butter
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons kosher or sea salt
  • 1/8 cup white wine
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Steps

  1. Combine the flour, cayenne pepper, and paprika in a small bowl. You can add up to 1 tablespoon of cayenne pepper for that extra spice boost.
  2. Dust and roll the shrimp pieces in the flour mixture. Be sure to cover and coat everything evenly.
  3. Add the chopped garlic and butter to a heated saute pan. Let both of the ingredients cook for about a minute.
  4. Carefully add the shrimp to the pan. Sprinkle some salt over the shrimp pieces.
  5. Turn the shrimp over after 3 minutes. Cook for another 3 minutes and then carefully pour the white wine around the shrimp. Stir it around for a bit and then add another 2 tablespoons of butter.
  6. Watch as the garlic turns brown on the shrimp, which is what you're going to look for. You don't want to overcook it or else the garlic will turn bitter.
